Position Description:

The Import/Export Specialist is responsible for the export management, document compliance, and documentation accuracy for the company’s outbound shipments. This role encompasses export air and ocean shipments from the overseas, as well as some domestic outbound truck and air shipments within the Singapore & UAE. The Import/Export Specialist will follow the company’s international trade compliance policies, global logistics policy, and quality initiatives in all activities. The position will perform the responsibilities detailed below and other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities:

Provide required documents for the export shipments in a timely manner.
Liaise with Global Customer Service, subsidiaries, Transportation Manager, warehouse, distribution hubs, in-house trucking, freight forwarders and couriers to ensure on-time delivery.
Ensure that Oracle deliveries are closed in a timely manner and freight charges are correctly allocated and/or billed.
Interact on an ongoing basis with internal and external parties including Procurement, Parts Planning, Pricing, Warehouse Operations, Transport, Vendors, Carriers, Compliance, etc.
Ensure 100% compliance with all import, export and transport rules and regulations.
Coordinate with the Credit Department to provide timely input as well as verify and prepare shipping document requirements on the Letter of Credit.
Maintain recordkeeping . export shipments in compliance with the Export Administration Regulations as well as Datacard ISO and quality practices.
Work with global regions to obtain Carnet’s for Trade Shows and Demo shipments.
Basic Qualifications:

High School diploma or GED
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in International Customer Service and/or Export Logistics
Must have proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word)
Familiarity with international shipment regulations.
Customs compliance requirements and export documentation
Demonstrated Inco terms acumen including thorough understanding of the Inco terms and their relationships with freight terms
Experience working with International Freight Forwarders, small pack couriers
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Must have unrestricted work authorization for Singapore & Dubai.
Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, International Business or related field
Familiarity with export financial / trade instruments
Experience with Oracle or another ERP system
Experience working with domestic and international Air, Ocean and Truck transportation
Import classification, valuation, agency requirements and customs clearance knowledge; Customs broker license a plus

Job Description

Manages carrier relations activities for Domestic, International, Home Delivery/Parcel, or Dedicated Delivery, as assigned, to support efficient, cost effective transportation functions.

Manages carrier relations activities of assigned carrier area to achieve efficient, reliable, cost effective transportation functions, including government relations impacting the business if applicable to assignment.
Builds and maintains proactive communications with carriers of assigned area to support mutually beneficial business relationships improving near and long term network capabilities, and support business requirements and objectives.
Supports the Procurement department in obtaining competitive costs for specific modes used in assigned area; provides Procurement with carrier specifications for contract negotiation purposes, working closely with them to obtain best in class carriers with reliable service at competitive costs for assigned area.
Participates in and manages the development of carrier strategy; develops and implements transportation initiatives that will improve lead-times, costs, and service; observes and stays aware of industry trends for issues impacting carrier network and service levels of assigned area.
Analyzes modal/carrier data to benchmark service standards, applicable trends, and financial strengths, to ensure contracted service levels are being met and develops action plans for continuous improvements to the network.
Identifies carrier opportunities and develops appropriate solutions; resolves carrier problems that could impact the timely delivery of shipments; proactively develops contingency plans and manages crisis situations for assigned area when need arises.

Required:

-Education: College degree in a business discipline preferred; master’s degree in logistics desired.

-Experience: Minimum 7 – 10 years in the transportation industry with exposure to a variety of freight transportation modes, especially those of assigned area.

Position Description:

Under administrative direction, the employee in this class directs and manages operations of a centralized municipal fleet program. Work is of unusual difficulty, requiring the employee to exercise extensive initiative and independent judgment in programs for fueling, servicing, and repairing of vehicles and equipment, monitoring their in-service performance, and arranging for their disposal and replacement. Work is reviewed through conferences, reports submitted, and results achieved. Appointed position; employee serves at the pleasure of the Mayor.

Manages a program for timely and cost effective maintenance and repair of an extensive city fleet of vehicles and equipment, including: heavy and special purpose construction equipment; light, medium, and heavy trucks; sedans, police vehicles, and commercial solid waste collection vehicles.
Communicates with operating department managers to address vehicle related issues; communicates with fleet staff on issues such as customer service, operational requirements, and performance standards, and with private vendors to resolve equipment servicing or repair issues and correct vendor performance as needed.
Directs a program to record service and repair time, parts utilization, and other operational or maintenance costs for proportionate distribution to user departments; provides technical input on specifications for vehicle and equipment to be purchased to establish conformance with functional requirements of city and user departments; analyzes vehicle repair data to make recommendations regarding the repair or replacement of vehicles; makes recommendations in regard to distribution, operation, inventorying and use of equipment.
Conducts product and company research on products and services marketed to determine if use would be effective and cost efficient for the city; establishes sources through contracting or other means for the provision of needed fuels, parts, and services.
Ensures that a safe environment exists within fleet facilities by effecting safety procedures and practices.

Position Description:

-Report to the Terminal Manager Lead, guide and direct terminal employees to include setting targets, monitoring performance, providing coaching, counseling and development.

-Accountable for the management of an efficient, clean and safe LTL operation

Increase logistics performance reliability and information capability for customers, suppliers and internal departments.
Implement process improvements to create more efficient processes and better cost estimating.
Review/Implement transportation strategies to continually drive down transportation cost
Development of a robust KPI and reporting metrics
Establish performance benchmarks in supply chain relevant processes and KPI’s and establish / participate in best practice sharing teams in order to create ideas for continuous improvement for HTT Transportation/Logistics operations.
Network with industry leaders, suppliers, transportation carriers and Siemens internal logistics organizations for synergies and continuous improvement opportunities
Required Skills and Competencies

5+ years progressive experience with global enterprises involved with Power, Energy or EPC projects
Demonstrated 10+ years of experience in global transportation, including: Ocean Freight, Rail, Trucking, Export Packing, Heavy Haul, Air
Experience with EPC project contracts
Experience in developing KPI’s, Best Practices and Performance Benchmarks for Transportation and Logistics Services
Well-developed communication skills, able to clearly and concisely express information (or data) to non-technical associates, peers and management.
Self-driven and resourceful to achieve goals independently as well as work in groups
